UNIFIL Attack: Two Indonesian Soldiers Injured, Calls for Accountability

JAKARTA, MATA SULSEL – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno L. P. Marsudi condemned the Israeli military attack on a UNIFIL observation tower in Naqoura, Lebanon, which resulted in injuries to two Indonesian peacekeeping personnel. The attack occurred on the night of October 10, 2024.

According to Minister Retno, the incident involved an Israeli tank firing on the observation post, causing the injuries. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious, but the soldiers are currently receiving medical care.

She stated that the safety of UNIFIL personnel and property must be respected by all parties, including Israeli forces.

The minister called for a thorough investigation into the attack and for those responsible to be held accountable for violations of international law.
